ASP Handcuffs, Plasticuffs and Disposable Restraints

ASP handcuffs are used by a majority of police forces in the US. Their design incorporates many simple but effective features that make them stand out in that field. ASP offer a significant advance in construction and design of wrist restraints. The frame design results from comprehensive computer modelling and the strength of their cuffs has been maximised by way of an interlocking frame and by forging the cuffs from extremely strong stainless steel. ASP designed their tactical cuffs by taking advice from officers in over 75 countries and this resulted in incorporating the most requested features such as a stainless steel cuff that is lighter than standard designs. As well as traditional chain-linked handcuffs, they also produce a range of hinged handcuffs that are safer to use and aid in gaining compliance. In addition to the traditional steel construction, ASP also make cuffs in aluminium, which is considerably lighter. What are becoming increasingly popular are the coloured cuffs. Cuffs coloured pink might look a little odd but can aid in reducing recidivism.

ASP handcuffs also include disposable plastic restraints also known as plasticuffs that can be used for specialist applications in the police and military. They feature rounded edges that reduce some of the issues associated with disposable restraints. There is also a range of accessories that support ASP restraints such as tri-fold restraints duty carrying cases and a safe restraint scarab cutters.
